He is the Data Protection Officer of the Portuguese Data Protection Authority.
Member of the General Council of University of Porto and Director of the University of Porto Competence Centre for Cybersecurity and Privacy.
His research focuses in the areas of privacy, cybersecurity and computational complexity.
He is the (co)founder of three spin-offs from the University (HealthySystems, Adyta and TekPrivacy).
